Universal Offers RWC Knockout Round PPV Deal

LOS ANGELES (October 8, 2015) – As the thrilling conclusion of Rugby World Cup 2015 nears, Universal Sports Network announced today digital and residential TV pay-per-view (PPV) pricing for the knockout round stage of the 48-match tournament. Starting Saturday, October 10, 2015, fans will be able to purchase an eight-match knockout round package for $99.99, and individual knockout round matches starting at $32.95 on digital or residential TV PPV*. The knockout round stage of Rugby World Cup 2015, which includes eight quarterfinal, semi-final and final matches, begins October 17 and culminates on October 31 at 12 p.m. ET with the World Cup Final at Twickenham Stadium in London.

The knockout round quarterfinal fixtures will be solidified on the final day of pool play Sunday, October 11, following the USA vs. Japan match at 2:30 p.m. ET. The top two teams in each of the four pools will advance. To date, reigning champion the New Zealand All Blacks along with Australia, France, Ireland, South Africa and Wales have all secured spots in the quarterfinals.

Rugby fans will have multiple options to watch the final eight matches in the knockout round of Rugby World Cup 2015 including both live streaming and TV PPV for all matches, and broadcast coverage of select matches. DIGITAL PPV: Pay-per-view live streaming of all Rugby World Cup 2015 knockout round matches in HD is available exclusively through the WatchRWC2015 streaming service in the U.S. and its territories. An eight-match knockout round package is $99.99, and individual knockout round matches are $32.95. Located at RWC2015PPV.com, the digital PPV service is available via the web on desktop and mobile devices as well as Roku, iOS and Android apps.

TV PPV: Knockout round matches are also available on a residential TV pay-per-view basis through all major TV providers in the U.S. Individual knockout round matches start at $32.95 while package availability* varies per provider. Universal Sports Network is the official U.S. broadcaster for Rugby World Cup 2015. The network acquired multi-platform media rights to the Rugby World Cup in a multi-year deal with the IRB (International Rugby Board) prior to the 2011 edition which allowed for Universal Sports and NBC to broadcast the quadrennial tournament live for the first time in the United States.
