Gamebreakers - DI College Men

Chad Gough fends off some attention.

Gamebreakers this weekend. Here’s a list of players who made an impact for their teams in Men’s DI rugby:

Chad Gough

Having previously played for Utah at flanker and flyhalf, the Snow Canyon HS product has found a hme at hooker. His play in the open field continues to be stellar, and in addition, he marshalled two debutant props through a physical clash with Wyoming, which ended in a 63-12 Utes victory.

CJ Burke

The Navy prop was a massive presence for the Midshipmen as they handled a difficult, wet, cold game against Air Force. Navy came out 28-0 victors and the effort by the forward pack, led by Burke, was a big reason why.

Dylan Craven

A product of the Father Ryan program in Tennessee, the University of Tennessee No. 8 powered over for two early tries that set the tone for the Vols and helped them to a 69-3 win over Kentucky.

Chris Bruno

The Harvard prop is a big part of Harvard’s 2-0 start, including a dominant performance against Penn this weekend.

Phil Salter

With the score 19-17 in Stony Brook’s favor, Salter iced his team’s game against Colgate with a try from a quick tap. That try ensure the Sea Wolves would win, and remain 1st in the Empire Conference.

University of Cincinnati Forward Pack

It was a unified effort by the University of Cincinnati forward pack, providing their backs a solid attacking platform and playing tough defense, and helping the Bearcats to a 45-20 upset of Miami.

Marcus Tupuola

The Notre Dame College flyhalf directed the attack and handled a weather-induced change of tactics with aplomb, helping NDC to a 27-7 win over James Madison.

Ky Young

The New England College flanker poached six balls in a somewhat surprising 18-8 victory for NEC over UMass in the ECRC.

Chrsitan Abbatiello

Alabama flanker Abbatiello scored two quick tries right when his coach asked him to ramp up the intensity and helped pace the Tide to another SCRC victory.
