Clemson to 2-0
Clemson followed on their big opening conference win Friday with a solid 68-5 defeat of North Carolina Saturday.
On Saturday, Tigers Head Coach Steve Lynch sent out a completely different starting lineup from Friday’s game. As Clemson did Friday, Saturday they started slowly, but built momentum quickly as the layers adjusted to Lynch’s new game plan. Nine different Clemson players scored tries.
Scrumhalf Andres Echeverria, one of seven freshman backs starting, showed energy and explosiveness, and fullback Jonah Lemothe scored two tries. Josh Dyson, who was big in support on offense and leading the defense, was player of the game.
“All in all,” said Lynch, “a solid start.”
