Oregon HS girls 7s Heats Up

The second weekend of the Rughby Oregon 7s season kicks off on Saturday, and in the girls division there's going to be a clash of two teams that rolled through last week's competition.
Last week the Grackles - a team made up chiefly of girls from the Grant team - and the Valley Panthers both finished 3-0. The Grackles blew out South Metro and Aloha, and had a little work to do against the Ducks, who finished a creditable 1-1-1 on the day.

The Panthers, meanwhile, defeated Bend, South Metro, and Battle Ground, and if you're being picky, you might notice their win over South Metro wasn't as dominating as that of the Grackles.
Valley Coach Jeremy Moore knows this.

The Grackles are very good, and I think more physically dominating than we are," he said. "We will win by endurance. We are fit and if we can match them try for try, I think we can finish stronger."
Last week, nine of the ten Panthers players scored tries, and the 10th player was their most impressive tackler. The Panthers will be without one of their top players in Jordan Ross, who picked up a shoulder injury last week.

The Grackles are led by sisters Tiana and Suiluana A'au. Their offense keys off those two.

Both of these teams will face off in their second game of the day at Northgate Park in Portland.
