CALGARY, Alb. – USA center Jane Paar will captain the USA Women's National 15s Team against Canada Wednesday, just a few days after earning her first USA cap.

The US Naval Academy graduate and Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps, Paar is in the USA 7s team training squad at the Olympic Training Center. She leads a USA team hoping to bounce back from a 39-13 loss to England in the opening game of the four-team Super Series in Alberta.

Head Coach Pete Steinberg has replaced four starters from that game againt England. with Catherine Benson replacing Sarah Chobot at prop, Molly Kinsella coming in for Alycia Washington at lock, Joanna Kitlinski coming in for Laura Miller at blindside flanker, and center Jennifer Sever sitting out, with Kimberly Rozier moving from flyhalf to center, and Lauren Rhode getting the #10 jersey.

The Eagles will have a tough game against a hard-nosed Canada team that battled New Zealand in a 40-22 defeat. Steinberg said in an interview with USA Rugby that he wanted to see more consistency on defense from his Eagles, and warned that Canada will come to play.

Meanwhile, Canada has also made changes. Head coach Francois Ratier also made four adjustments, with Cindy Nelles replacing Jacey Murphy at No. 8, Lori Josephson in for Chelsea Guthrie, and wings Natasha Smith and Brittany Waters stepping aside for Lisa Gauthier and Katie McNally.

The USA v Canada game kicks off at 8:30pm ET, 5:30pm PT today, Wednesday, July 1 at the Red Deer Rugby Club in Red Deer, Alb. It is also Canada Day.
