The Exiles defeated West Shore United 24-5 in the final of the Boys HS Club bracket of the HSRC in Chester, Pa. Sunday, controlling possession and putting in a fairly clinical display of 7s rugby.

The Exiles, many of whom have played together under the Atlantis banner, played scrappy defense and varied their attack to keep West Shore on their heels. They took the lead in the opening minutes when center James Lyons made a long break from a midfield scum. The Exiles recycled five meters out and went over the tryline, but were held up. However, from the ensuing scrum, Lyons finished what he started and dotted down for the opening try. Jacob Estes slotted the conversion for the 7-0 lead.

The Exiles immediately extended the lead following after West Shore fabled the restart. From that scrum they sent the ball through the hands and unleashed D'Montae Noble, who raced in for the try. Estes hit his second conversion to make it 14-0. 

After that, West Shore redoubled their efforts and put the Exiles under some pressure, but points eluded them.

The second half opened with both teams working hard to maintain their defensive front.

Following some kicking for possession, Maryland stole a lineout inside the West Shore 22, and the forwards powered in, with Pat Hess getting it down for the third try of game and a 19-0 lead.

West Shore finally got on the board with a well worked multiphase try with 2:45 left in the game. With time enough to make it a one-score game, the Pennsylvania squad needed to win the restart, but it was the Exiles that came up with the ball. 

West Shore finally got their hands on the ball with a minute to go, but were forced into touch. The Exiles won their lineout, worked the ball to the backs, and a nice chip and chase finished with Noble getting his second try of the game with no time left on the clock.

That ended it 24-5. Noble was a superb attacking option for the Exiles, who finished the weekend with a 5-0 record.

Rocky Mountain defeated Berkshire 34-12 for 3rd.
