Aircraft Charter Solutions PoW - Jon Doster
Sparking South Doyle to a defeat of rivals Bearden, South Doyle (Tenn.) flyhalf Jon Doster was a try-scoring machine.
Doster has been playing rugby since 8th grade and is now a junior and starting #10 for South Doyle, having moved from loose forward. He helped South Doyle to a SMAC conference title as a freshman shifting to scrumhalf for the playoffs.
"He has worked hard to develop his kick and has so far been hitting a high percentage of his penalty kicks and conversion kicks, which was a huge part of our win over Jesuit a few weeks ago at Nash Bash," said Head Coach matt Lance. And add to that his ability to turn around field position with his kicking from hand.
This season, in just two matches, he was scored 53 points for South Doyle, scoring every way possible.
"His skill and creativity with the rugby ball has also allowed for dynamic play from all who play around him," added Lance. "He is able to skip several players out wide to take advantage of an overload, or offload to support setting up a try or big play. His understanding of the game of rugby combined with an understanding of what it is we are doing strategically allow him to organize and take command on the rugby field."
A defensive end and tight end in football for a 13-1 South Doyle football team, Doster is tall and physical, but continues to work on developing his rugby skills.
"His work ethic and love for the sport of rugby is unmatched," said Lance. "He plays hard for his program and his teammates and is the absolute definition of a true competitor."
Lance said he things Doster can find a position to make his own at any level, and "anyone who has seen this kid play would agree with me."
Well we're just going to make Jon Doster our Aircraft Charter Solutions Player of the Week.
