Wheeling Jesuit continued to make their late charge for a DIA playoff spot with yet another impressive victory.
This time, it was Ohio State who were on the receiving end to the tune of 48-10. In a tough, physical game where both teams heard the referee's whistle a lot, WJU showed their imporoement, countering Ohio State's forward-first game with some snappy ball movement.
Flyhalf Michael Fitzpatrick opened the scoring for WJU after a poor OSU clearance kick gave the backs some room to run. Then All American No. 8 Peter Malcon powered through on an eightman pick. Fullback Jaime Barlow sliced through the Buckeye defense for one, and would add another on a 70-meter run later in the game. Center Chris Vakasisikakala broke through three tackles to score the next one, and then porp Tyler Ozment went over from a quick tap.
More from the forwards as lock Zach Reichenbach took a page out of OSU's book and scored after a series of pick-and-go's. After Barlow's long run, sub back Nic Lavicoli capped off a nice movement.
In 2015 WJU has beaten Navy, Wester Virginia, and Ohio State, with the only blemish on their record a loss to Clemson right after the defeat of Navy, perhaps a harsh lesson about how last week's win is old news. But the wins have helped WJU move up in the rankings - probably high enough to get into the DIA playoffs.
