The Varsity Cup has confirmed the matchup of teams in this year’s bracket.

As previously announced, BYU and Cal, the finalists the last two years, get a bye into the quarterfinals.

BYU will play the winner of UCLA v Air Force. In the other half of the BYU bracket, Utah takes on Oklahoma, and Central Washington faces Arizona State.

Cal will face the winner of Texas & Notre Dame. In the other half of the Cal bracket, Clemson plays Arkansas State, and Dartmouth plays Navy.

Based on Goff Rugby Report’s Week 17 DI rankings, posted last week, the rankings matchups seem to fit the seedings relatively well. The only outlier is that defending champions BYU would seem to have a tougher quarterfinal game than defending runners up Cal.
