ORSU Joins WPL
The Women's Premier League has announced that Oregon Sports Union (ORSU) will replace Beantown for the 2014 season.
ORSU won the women's DI title this past spring after finishing 2nd in 2013. Beantown announced on June 6 that they would be dropping out. ORSU was part of the WPL from 2009-2010. The Portland, Ore.-area team has rebounded to be among the top teams in the nation. With ORSU joining the WPL, the league voted unanimously to split conferences on a geographic basis. ORSU joins the Western, or Blue, Conference, which included Berkeley, Glendale, and the San Diego Surfers.
The Eastern, or Red, Conference will be Atlanta, New York, Twin Cities, and DC Furies.
The 2014 schedule has not been released yet.
