Cortland will play Oswego in the final of the Upstate NY Collegiate Rugby Conference Sunday after a snowy Saturday of semifinals.

There was several inches of snow on the ground, and it kept falling Saturday afternoon at the SUNY Oswego campus. In the first semifinal, Oswego beat Buffalo State 19-12. Oswego’s forward play and defense was outstanding, and they showed impressive ball-handling in the chilly conditions. Buff State likes to play sideline to sideline, but the snow made that difficult, and they were bottled up.

In the second semifinal, Cortland beat Niagara 20-3 setting up a championship between teams that have already played twice this fall, with each team winning once.

Sunday’s forecast calls for chilly temperatures and a chance of snow.
