The brackets for the USA Rugby Women's DI & DII College Fall Championships, hosted by ACRA, have been released. Check this document for playoff updates, as well as notes (hover over team name) on how teams qualified for nationals (navigate between tabs at bottom of spreadsheet for each division).

While preliminary information for the DII tournament had been released last week, today is the first look at DI. No real surprises, with perhaps two exceptions. A case could have been made for Iowa State's inclusion, or at least a play-in match. ISU played Northern Iowa - the long-time powerhouse in the region - to an 8-0 loss and went on to post big numbers during league. But the Midwest got a big boost in representation when the Big 10 decided to join the fall championships, and the inclusion of long-standing quality sides like Indiana and Ohio State probably hurt ISU's chances.

Texas A&M is also a question mark. The Aggies won the Texas Cup - a home-and-away series with Texas and Texas Tech - in a competition that has typically been split between the fall and spring seasons. With only three teams in the Southwest conference, this at-large bid should have been another play-in situation. With that said, the late-evolving nature of this championship makes planning impromptu matches like play-ins nearly impossible.

Division II benefits from higher participation and can support a Round of 32, with certain conferences receiving byes into the Round of 16. A handful of seeds were determined last weekend:

- Rutgers dethroned Vassar 38-15 for the Tri-State crown; both teams will plays its Round of 32 games at home. Marist defeated Hofstra 59-24 for third and received an at-large bid in the Northeast bracket.

- Utah Valley won the Rocky Mountain title after a thrilling 26-24 semifinal win over Colorado College, before blanking Mesa State 19-0 in the final. The win ushers UVU into the Round of 16. Interestingly, Colorado College applied for - and won - an at-large in the Northeast bracket, where it'll face host Bowdoin in the Round of 32.n (Update Nov. 4: Colorado College didn't apply for at-large bid; the conference was awarded a second seed, and since Mesa State acquired too many injuries to continue on, CC got the Round of 32 spot.)

- Notre Dame College locked up the Ohio Valley conference title with a 55-38 win over Cincinnati. The Falcons operated as an independent team last year, so this marks the program's first conference crown.

- Top-seeded teams Kutztown and Bloomsburg won their respective MARC semifinals, with the former beating reigning Mid-Atlantic champion Shippensburg 63-0, and the latter defeating Delaware 36-12. The finalists advance to the Round of 16, with the victor playing in the Mid-Atlantic region, and second place in the Northeast region. The conference final will be played this Saturday.

- UW Steven's Point took home the Great Waters' title after a commanding 92-5 win over UW Whitewater. Both finalists advanced to the Round of 32 in the West bracket.
