As D1AA competition heats up this January we are already seeing some standout individual performers.

Yes, it's a team game, but it's worth taking a look at who has a special day.

Justin Martin, Fresno State

The Bulldogs' flyhalf helped settle the team down and embrace the team's offensive pattern, sparking a comeback win over Cal Maritime. Martin was named the 8x8 Sports D1AA Player of the Week.

Kenny Brooks, Central Florida

The UCF scrumhalf drove the tempo nicely as the Knights beat FAU 24-15.

Obed Neemia and Hendrik van Niekerk, San Jose State

In a big win over Nevada Reno, Neemia scored a try and van Niekerk scored no tries, but their work as forwards (Neemia at prop and van Niekerk at lock) set the ton and created the launching pad for everyone else.

Dylan Alexander, American River College

The Beavers won impressively over Stanford in their California Conference opener, and Alexander, playing scrumhalf capped off three first-half movements with some smart runs to score and take control of the match.

Lyndon Bailey, Western Washington

The freshman out of the San Mateo Wolverines was player of the game for WWU as they were pipped 27-25 by a University of Victoria XV.  The young lock has already shown his ability and leadership early in his college career.

Nick Laskowski, Claremont Colleges

Called the heartbeat of the Claremont team, the CC scrumhalf set the pace of attack in an impressive win over Cal State Long beach.
