NCR D1 Rankings Week 2
NCR D1 Rankings Week 2
As we said in our opening rankings, expect some changes.
It really does depend more on what happens on the field. In the last two weeks Iowa Central CC had produced two very good performances against strong teams—one of the D1AA contenders, and then a higher-ranked NCR D1 team. Marian, too, won a game against a higher-ranked team and, tellingly, we at GRR were warned that we had both ICCC and Marian ranked too low.
Well the warnings proved correct.
Walsh ... well you know we were a little cautious with Walsh because, while so much was the same, much was new, as well. They impressed us and move to #1. Iowa Central moves up six spots and Marian five spots.
As loathe as we are to move a team down that won a game, Michigan, ranked at #20, gets bumped out. AIC moves in after a 6-5 win over Fairfield. Of course that's a really close score, so it's a shaky platform that AIC needs to make stronger.
Fairfield drops down five spots for now, but their 6-5 loss to AIC can likewise be tossed out if they find stronger performances going forward.
