Assistant Coach Position Open at West Point Women's Team

The West Point women's rugby program is looking for a paid assistant coach.
With assistant coach Kelsie McDowell moving on to a head coaching job at LaSalle, there is a vacancy at Army.
The West Point women's team is a regular visitor to the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) D1 playoffs. The program, whose Head Coach is Bill LeClerc, is a NCAA varsity program.
The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Women’s Rugby Coach by coaching Cadet-athletes, recruiting, monitoring Cadet-athletes’ academic progress, scheduling, managing travel, overseeing the discipline and conduct of the Cadet-athletes.
The position requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and 3 years’ relevant experience may substitute.
- Ability to collaborate with coaching staff and in support the vision of Head Coach.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with coaches, administrators, Cadet-athletes, prospective Cadet-athletes, parents, etc.
- Takes initiative, hardworking, ability/willingness to figure out solutions to problems independently, creative.
- Extremely organized, detail oriented, self-starter and intrinsically motivated.
- Strong management and leadership skills; Proven ability to multi-task effectively.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
