The USA U20 Men's team has been in training in Ferndale, Wash. at the DeWilde Rugby Fields, run by the Chuckanut Rugby Club.

Training in Northwest Washington allows the squad to acclimate to the time zone and weather. And while May in the PNW can be sunny and mild, it's been rainy right now, and that's probably a good thing for the USA players. Next up, of course, are two matches against Canada: at Shawnigan Lake School on Vancouver Island  June 1 and then Starlight Stadium in Langford, BC (also on Vancouver Island) on June 6. The USA players will be taking a ferry to Victoria when it's time to play the games.

The youngest player there is 17-year-old Spencer Hundley, the scrumhalf from the San Diego Mustangs. The Mustangs played the Boys HS National Championships without him, while Hundley, technically too young to play in international U20 action, required a waiver to participate. (These waivers are not radically uncommon, but they don't happen a massive amount, either.)
