The local teams seem to have held sway at the GARHS Day One.

The tournament, held in Owyhee, Idaho, welcomes teams from Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona as well as five Idaho sides.

Rocky Mountain won both of their games while allowing just a try. Eagle HS accomplished the same, Owyhee went one better, shutting out both opponents, 

The one out-of-state team winning both pool games was Summit HS out of Colorado, which beat Mountain View and Grackles to go 2-0.

All four of those teams make the qyarterfinals as well as those that went 1-1. Panthers out of Oregon beat Monarch out of Colorado 17-5 to join the top eight; Arizona's Marana held off Liberty of Washington 15-5; Mountain View beat Grackles 41-7; Meridian beat Summit Tigers 19-5 to finish 1-1.

So that sets up the quarterfinal matchups:
Rocky Mountain vs Panthers
Eagle vs Mountain View
Owyhee vs Meridian
Summit HS vs Marana

In addition the other four teams will play each other in a round-robinc to determine 9th through 12th.
