Elite 7s Teams Boast Plenty of Youth
Below is the Friday evening schedule and the roster we have so far for the Elite City 7s to be held in Houston as a qualifier for the World Club 7s.
New York does not have a team in this competition as they, having won the Plate in 2013, already qualified.
Mot of the teams involved have drawn heavily from area college and even high school talent, although some teams are more experienced.
San Diego is heavily populated by players who are in the USA 7s team camp and hoping to break into a regular USA spot. By contrast, Salt Lake City has three players from Brigham Young University, five from the University of Utah, and two from Snow Canyon High School.
Seattle is another experienced team, with most of the players boasting several years' experience. Five of the Seattle team have played 7s for the USA, but nine are products of American college rugby. Boston, also, has a strong college background, with two of their number still in school (both at AIC).
