Men D1AA College Rankings Week 2
Men D1AA College Rankings Week 2
A few outbreaks of the latest version of COVID meant for a couple of canceled games.
In addition, lightning kiboshed a game or two. Still we got to see some results and also two warmup tournaments that give us a little insight into how those teams look.
The Middle of the Map tournament ended with Kansas and Colorado State tying in the final game. It was a very good showing for Kansas and while these are shortened games it is still enough, at this early stage, to give the Jayhawks a boost. Texas State was a bit hit-and-miss in the Dust Off The Rust tournament. But, that's the thing about these tournaments—those results don't have the staying power of actual full-length league games.
Kentucky's loss to Marian drops them down ... for now ... but a non-league loss against a higher-division foe isn't that big a deal. Cincinnati started off well but they will have to back that up. Binghamton, Arkansas, and Colgate all won well and move up as a result.
Games this coming week to keep us on the lookout:
Tennessee at South Carolina
Kentucky at Clemson
Oklahoma at Southern Nazarene
Virginia Tech at Maryland
Cincinnati at Louisville
Stony Brook at UMass
MIssouri at Kansas
