Brown won the Women's CRC Premier title Saturday, defeating Army in the final 21-19.

It was one of the few really competitive games in the event in which the top four were clearly stronger than the rest—certainly an indication of the difference between varsity or elevate-club teams and regular club teams.

In fact, of the 16 Cup bracket games (Round of 16, quarterfinals, etc.)  10 were shutouts. This included every single game in the quarterfinals. Brown's defense was very good and in fact they allowed only three tries all tournament—all in the final against Army.

"It's such a special ending for a special group. All weekend they were tuned in and making adjustments and improvements after each match," said Brown Head Coach Rosalind Chou. "It's a great send off for our seniors, Emerson Goodrich, Kate Molloy, and MVP Mahdia Parker. The team has transformed in the eight months I've had the pleasure to coach them and I am so excited for future seasons to come."

Morgan Cunningham, Parker, and Nikki Lynch all scored tries in a 19-0 shutout of Navy in the semis. In the final it was a back-and-forth game that saw Parker score the game-tying try with just over a minute left. Julia Murray, a freshman whose kicking had been strong all day, slotted the game-winning conversion.

Elsewhere in the Premier Cup, Penn State took third over Navy, Virginia Tech took the Plate over Northern Iowa, Iowa defeated Iowa State for the Bowl, and the Shield was won by Kutztown over Aquinas.
