Super Rugby Americas has finalized its schedule, with the American Raptors out of Glendale, Colo. having a tough opening to the season.

Super Rugby Americas is a cross-border competition including teams form South American who were formerly in the SLAR league, and the Raptors being the first of what could be more North American teams to join.

As expected, the Raptors will begin the February-to-June season on the road for an extended period, essentially staying in South America for close to a month.

They then get a bye week as they return to Colorado where the Raptors will host six straight games from late March into May. Then there's another bye week before rounding out the season on the road.

It's not like most sports seasons, which try to avoid long road trips and long homestands, but it reduces the travel costs for everyone and with intelligent use of the bye weeks the travel strain is lessened on the Raptors.

It's also worth noting that Cobras Brasil does this a little, too.
