Summit Girls Win CIRA
Summit HS won the Colorado Interscholastic Rugby Association state championship, defeating East HS in the final.
Summit HS topped Monarch in one semifinal 29-7, while East HS beat Regis Jesuit 22-5 in their own semi.
In the championship match The final it was Summit 27-10 over East HS for the Cup. Monarch took 3rd, while the Summit Tigers side beat Eagle Valley for the Plate

This was a very balanced team, enthused Head Coach Karl Barth. The tem went on to play the Rugby Colorado champions as well as the Rugby Colorado All-Stars and beat them despite having their top three scorers unavailable.
"We built depth that helped in state tournament and the team only had three seniors."
Those seniors showed well through the season. Pelham Wagenseil was outstanding in the state tournament, while Paola Arredondo was one of the team's leading try-scorers, and Joselin Roque led the team in points score.

Ashley Misch, Viola Koning, and Rose Rode all were key in winning and retaining possession, and creating space for the scorers, and joining Arredondo as a big try-scorer was finisher Ella Snyder.
