BC High Advances to MIAA Final
Boston College High defeated Milton HS 47-26 Wednesday evening to move into the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletics Association Boys D1 final.
BC High took a 21-5 lead into the break but the game was perhaps tighter than the score indicates. Milton was knocking on the door during the final five minutes of the half. But BC High's defense held on.
The Eagles won the second-half kickoff with a nice chase and tap-back. After three phases that gained little ground they broke down the sideline, and while stopped just short of the tryline, BC High's forwards recycled nicely and were over.
That turned the momentum.
From then on BC High was in relative control. Milton did reply but BC High would score right after. With time up and BC High up 47-19, Milton kept working hard and got one more. But of course it didn't change the outcome.
BC High captain and hooker Sean Murphy was outstanding in all aspects and scored three tries.
The state final is now set for June 18. BC High will play the winner of Belmont High and St. John's; their semifinal will be played Friday.
