Fallbrook Takes SoCal Girls Title
Fallbrook took home the Southern California Girls School 7s this past weekend, defeating Tosero, Poway, and Torrey Pines to secure the championship.
The reigning champions Fallbrook their success into this year, sweeping the regular season competition and, most impressive, allowing zero tries.
Going into the playoffs, then, the Lady Warriors were favored, but it wasn't just about that. They wanted to keep opponents scoreless and play to a higher standard. That's exactly what they did.
Led by a strong senior contingent in their final games, Fallbrook defeated Poway 48-0, Torrey Pines 49-0, and Tesoro 57-0 to run the table in emphatic fashion. Torrey Pines defeated Tesoro 31-5 and Poway 27-10 to take 2nd.
Torrey Pines played with grit and determination as they took runner-up honors with victories over Poway and Tosero High Schools while challenging the Fallbrook staunch defense with multiple threats of scoring.
With the final High School games coming to an end many of the players will transition to club play competing in 10s play across Southern California.
