DIAA-Level Men College Rankings Week 12
It's tough to drop a #1 team when that team is idle, but we've got a good reason.
Tennessee was always close to being #1, and they have continued to win games without a slipup. And then remember they beat Ohio State, and Ohio State just won the Big Ten, so that in itself would be enough to bump up a DIAA team.
We might have also moved Bowling Green up a bit more but they did lose to Notre Dame and it wasn't an "oh-that-doesn't-really-count" moment. Oregon comes into the Top 45 after a shutout win over University of Washington. The MARC hardly gets any more clear. St. Joseph's, Rowan, West Chester, and Salisbury all played each other and there wasn't much between them. Salisbury went 1-2 against the other three with a loss by three and a win by two. West Chester went 1-1-1 with all three games close. Same deal for Rowan. St. Joe's getting their biggish win over Salisbury (39-24) is the only thing that separates them. St. Joe's ended up 2-1 with a close loss (three tries each, fewer conversions for SJU), a close win, and a 39-24 win.
We thought about it for a week and decided to move St. Joe's up a bit more.

Now we get to see who can back this all up. Tennessee plays Clemson in the SCRC final, so we've got that. Notre Dame plays Indiana. If ND loses to Indiana who lost to Ohio State who lost to Tennessee, would that be enough to drop them down? Brown plays Penn State (!), Salisbury plays Virginia Tech, St. Joe's plays Binghamton, Boise State plays Nazareth, Queens plays Northeastern, and UMW plays St. Bonaventure.
This is a mixture of teams that wanted to be ranked DIA and those that were clearly DIAA. Don't blame us that it was all changed later. Maybe we should have an all-college fall ranking. Hey, that's a good idea ...
