Power Up Front Leads DI Gamebreakers

With teams chasing some conference championships the Gamebreaker performances become that much bigger; interestingly, this week most of the players we name are forwards, and most of those locks or props.

Here is this week's list from DI rugby.

Marcus Montgomery, Salisbury

The Sharks No. 8 led from the front in a win over Rutgers, testing the Rutgers defense repeatedly and scoring two tries.

Dominic Caccese, West Chester

The Rams lock was the player of the game against Temple, getting over the ball in the rucks and stealing possession or forcing penalties. West Chester won 41-12.

John Stuhldreher, Bowling Green

The flanker was excellent in defense against IUPUI and also scored two tries.

Tyquan Mills, Western Michigan

With the scrums working and defense in tight key, Mills, who plays prop, was key for the Broncos as they beat Cincinnati.

Leo Bell, Ohio State

The OSU prop scored three tries in a victory over Illinois.

Lucas Hendershot, Michigan State

The Spartan prop was powerful up front in wet conditions against Michigan, scoring his second try in as many games to top off an overall strong performance.

Brittain Hale, BYU

The lock was strong in the set piece and in defense, and scored an impressive try as BYU won the Rocky Mountain Conference with a defeat of Colorado State.

Prince-Louis Bush, Queens University

In the Queens victory over Mary Washington Bush was part of an excellent back row effort, and added a try, showing his ability to break open games, as well.

Sal Cahoon, Indiana

Cahoon captains the Indiana B side, but got the start against Purdue and was excellent, playing the full 80 minutes and leading from the front at openside flanker as Indiana remains undefeated.

Jack Drandes, Iona

In Iona's big win over Syracuse Drandes, who plays lock, was the player of the game. He was strong in the rucks, made some big carries, and was outstanding in defense.

Pride Gadzikwa, Iowa Central CC

Gadzikwa scored four tries as the Tritons beat Wisconsin.
