DIAA-Level Men College Rankings Week 5
Here's a look at some of the best performers from the week. Our D1 Men's College Gamebreakers:
Cole Frank, Clemson
The big freshman forward who has the pace of a wing provided an athletic spark as Clemson defeated Georgia.
Caleb Smith, Penn State
Active and key in getting turnovers in a tight win over Kutztown, The Penn State flanker was his team’s player of the game.
Sam Masterson, Colorado State
The CSU flyhalf was masterful with the boot. He converted all seven CSU tries and added a penalty goal in the Rams’ defeat of Air Force 52-31. His kicking from the hand kept Air Force pinned in their end, tested them with high balls, and was generally very poised under pressure. Despite not even having posts to practice with he practice on his own using whatever he could, and showed up in mid-season kicking form.
Brooks Tate, Arkansas
In an impressive win over Oklahoma, prop Tate was a tackling menace, forced penalties and turnovers in the breakdown, and punished defenders with his running.
Brendan O’Neill, Nazareth
In Nazareth’s defeat of Binghamton, the flyhalf scored 22 points.
Whit Harlin and Matt McCarthy, Colorado
The second row pairing for the Buffs were huge on defense and helped control the set piece, especially the lineouts as Colorado beat Wyoming.
Connor Robinson, Boston College
Robinson sparked the Eagles with three tries in a win over Connecticut.
Cameron Giwa-McNeil, Mary Washington
The UMW tighthead prop set the platform nicely in a big win over Southern Virginia.
Nick Hafford, Kansas
The second row scored and provided an extra offensive dimension as Kansas beat Missouri.
Thorne O’Connell, Kutztown
In a close loss to Penn State, the KU flyhalf scored 17 points and managed an attack that logged 30 points against Penn State.
Calvin Dolo, IUPUI
The IUPUI hooker had a big game with two tries, some other major line breaks, and was active throughout the game in a 36-18 win over Ohio University.
Alex Giesert, Iowa State
The lock scored four tries for ISU in their win over Truman.
Peyton Wall, Indiana
Wall scored another try for IU. The transfer from Life University is back in Indiana and sparking a very effective IU backline.
