Warriors, Herriman Show Claws in Utah
Chugging along in Utah Youth Rugby's league, two very powerful teams continue on their winning ways.
West Valley Warriors defeated Mountain Ridge 52-14 over the weekend. They scored in just a few minutes through No. 8 Lorenzo Tu'aone and didn't look back. They are a very imposing team with Tu'aone, prop Griffin Lokotui, flankers Fangaleka Tukuafu and Latu Sotele, and lock AJ Fiefia. Out wide their backs can run with Saia Lomu and Julius Tikuisuva patrolling midfield and Maea Liuaki Giles playing an effective fullback and kicking well.
Herriman, meanwhile, didn't play over the weekend but instead played a midweek game against United and won convincingly 50-12. Daxton McPeak, Caden Suddall, Sake Tukuafu, and Sam Adamson are starting to come into their own as key players and scrumhalf Strider Fountaine has been electric at the #9 position and Mason Barker continues to impress as well.
"We just played really well," said Herriman Director of Rugby Jeff Wilson. "It was the best we've ever played down at their place. We are starting to look like the team I thought we could be."
Scary thought.
Next up this weekend in Utah:
Olympus at Herriman on Friday
West Valley Warriors at #2 HS Club Genesis on Saturday.
