Alycia Washington is a dynamic, exciting rugby player who performs superbly in any arena—open play, 7s, 15s, and down and dirty in the mud if need be—and that seems completely at odds with her personality.

Cerebral, soft-spoken, carefully considered, Washington is all class off the field and all whirlwind on it. Very.very close to earning Player of the Decade for the 2010s by Goff Rugby Report's readers (she was just pipped by Stacey Bridges), Washington has been at the center of women's rugby for the past ten years as a leader, a lock forward for the USA Women's 15s team, and as an ambassador.

The fact that she's also devoted her time as an administrator and coach is just extra. We just know she's an excellent rugby player.

Among the very best second row forwards in the history of American women's rugby, which is saying something because there's been a lot, Washington is also among the very best players, period.
