Insurance Cost Sharing A Problem?
Insurance Cost Sharing A Problem?
USA Rugby does a pretty good job with liability insurance, which protects you if, while you’re playing, you kick the ball into the crowd and the ball hurts a bystander.
But the injury insurance is another matter. Several sources tell GRR that the cost for youth and HS injury insurance is much lower per-person than it is for adults. This is partly because the law dictates that all minors must have health insurance. So the injury insurance policy knows that young people will be covered up to a point, meaning payouts will be lower and so premiums are lower.
But USA Rugby tracks insurance per member equally. When policies shift to other organizations, USA Rugby might get a nasty surprise.
Solution
