Woodlands Beats Westlake
Woodlands Beats Westlake
The Woodlands logged an impressive result this weekend in Rugby Texas, taking down defending state champs Westlake.
The Woodlands won the game 37-29, but Coach Phil Beck said there is more to give.
"Woodlands are a little behind where we would like to be, however both teams played well," said Beck. The game was rather scrappy for both sides, added the coach, but that is "not unusual for the first game of the season."
Jack Holdsworth was excellent in the rucks and stole plenty of ball for Woodlands, and for that he was named player of the game.
"Both sides have a lot of work to do," added Beck. "However next week's game against Katy will be an interesting one."
Katy beat Westlake in a warmup a week ago (Katy Upsets Westlake in Texas) and also swept their two games in Louisiana this weekend.
