Women NIRA and D1 College Games This Weekend
Women NIRA and D1 College Games This Weekend
Among Women's DI and NIRA games the Big Ten ramps up with three games, all worth a look.
Most were impressed with how Notre Dame played last week with a bunch of players who had never played before. They now see where that takes them against Michigan.
Davenport, a program that has so much potential to perform at a national level looked really good in that win over Notre Dame (even as UND showed well). The Panthers are a school-supported Non-Varsity team, but if they can make that leap to full NCAA varsity, one wonders what that would mean for them and the game.
Penn State at Virginia is another good one. Penn State's opener was called off, so this is their first game. (PS, anyone notice that Penn State's men's and women's rugby teams' websites are now hosted by the official Penn State sports site rather than through the school recreation hosting system? Baby steps.)
Out west, Utah State at Utah Valley and Wyoming at Air Force are the first major D1-v-D1 Rocky Mountain games.
Friday's Quinnipiac at Army game is fast becoming a must-win for these two as they consider making it to the top two.
