USC Trojans Back on the Rugby Field
USC Trojans Back on the Rugby Field
The University of Southern California has removed the suspension it handed down to the USC men's rugby team last fall.
The suspension was installed when the men's team struck a deal with the USC women's rugby team whereby they shared their practice fields and thus increased their number of practice days. However, this arrangement violated the terms of their probation, thus putting the Trojan Men’s team on suspension and forcing them to pull out of the PAC Rugby Conference 7s in November.
The suspension has now been lifted, and USC is free to play rugby again. Unfortunately, heavy rains means that this weekend's planned game against Santa Barbara Rugby Academy has been rained out.
USC is slated to play at Arizona next week, January 28, in the Trojans' PAC Rugby Conference opener.
