Test Hurt, But How Badly?
Test Hurt, But How Badly?
USA star 7s player Zack Test has an ankle injury of some sort, and his fitness for next weekend's London 7s is in question.
Test left Sunday's Cup Quarterfinal with Australia in obvious pain after twisting when being tackled. He was helped off the field. According to USA Coach Mike Friday, the injury was to Test's ankle, and he is considered day-to-day. Friday added that he is planning on a backup player to come in if Test can't go.
"Our aim is to have 12 players and whatever seven start, I want the luxury of knowing I can call on any one of the five [subs] and put them in the mix and no it will not weaken us," Friday told Goff Rugby Report. "We are getting closer to that but I need and want consistency in performance and accuracy of execution from all 12 every time all the time, not just some of the time, which is where we are with a significant number of the squad. If we aspire to break in to the Top 4 next season we will need to find or evolve into that."
