Still Tight in NECRC
Still Tight in NECRC
Nothing has been decided in the New England CRC, as the top three teams are still locked in a very tight struggle.
Rhode Island defeated Coast Guard 20-13 in a tough, defensive game. URI Head Coach Warren Boothman said the game was about "maintaining our focus while turning up the heat," and that's exactly how it was. "Other than a little slip in the early going, our defense was superb today and the forward pack did themselves proud. It was a great, hard-fought win and the boys showed a ton of heart today."
Vermont, meanwhile, won 39-15 over Boston University. So what they means is that Rhode Island controls their destiny at 7-1. Vermont and Coast Guard are at 6-2, with UVM ahead on bonus points. So it now all comes down to November 14. Vermont has to beat Rhode Island to win the conference. Coast Guard hasn't been eliminated, but the Bears need to win out and hope both URI and UVM lose.
