St. Joe's Wins Close One In MARC
St. Joseph's clinched 1st in the Mid-Atlantic D1AA with a tight win over West Chester.
The result doesn't really change much, as those two finish 1st and 2nd and will play in the conference championship game anyway.
St. Joe's held on 41-35, with West Chester on attack at the end of the game when the Hawks finished them off.
"We gave up too many points in the later part of the second half," said St. Joe's head coach Dan Yarusso. "Credit to West Chester. They are a good team that kept fighting."
Noah Niumataiwalu started off the game with an interception for a try and Aram Keshgegian scored three times in that game. Prop Nick Ballas also had a strong game for St. Joes.
Now they will face off a second time.
"We feel that we have a balanced team," said West Chester head coach Bjorn Haglid. "We still feel we match up well with St. Joe's."
