Southern Conference Cancels Fall Season
Southern Conference Cancels Fall Season
Action from 2016.
The Southern Rugby Conference Board has voted to cancel any rugby for the fall of 2020.
The conference, which recently announced a joining with NCR, and is a robust, two-tiered Men's DII collegiate competition, decided unanimously to move all rugby to the spring, with 15s and 7s still on the table.
With some colleges halting or changing season for sports, and others still trying to figure it out, it became clear that the best course of action was to cancel the fall season.
"With a large number of schools still figuring out how they will handle sports this fall there is no logistical way to have a competitive season," said the SRC Board in a statement.
