SCIRF Girls Final 7s This Weekend
SCIRF Girls Final 7s This Weekend
The girls teams in the SCIRF will meet up this weekend for a 7s championship.
Games of 15s or 10s are expected following this weekend, giving players a chance to get more experience in the aspects of play needed for the larger-squad versions of rugby. But 7s it will be this weekend.
The teams involved have been playing a series of tournaments through January. Under Coach Rudy Bautista Los Alamitos has been playing all over the place and looking good doing it. Lanaya Sauvao, Mylia Uaealesi Tafai, Talaia Solia, Persjah Lam Sam, Aleila Moala, and Kalice McCutcheon have all featured on the scoresheet.

They hit hard and force turnovers which often lead to scores.
Meanwhile, Lakewood High School has recruited very well and is not only strong, but deep. They have used that depth to develop an impressive style of play and could well go into the weekend favorites.
Twelve schools are in action, but with the depth of some, Saturday's action will be split into D1 and Open divisions. Several collegiate coaches will be on-site to scout players.
