Brent Nelson started the Iowa Central Community College men's rugby program and took it to a NSCRO national title, then 3rd in D2, and then a DIAA national fall title in 2019.
Along the way, he's endured criticism of his program and how he puts it together, and had to deal with a protest for staying in DII, a protest that ended with the Tritons being moved to DIAA late in the 2019 fall season. The Tritons then won DIAA and now face a move to keep them from staying in DIAA.
Nelson doesn't care. He says his program provides a valuable service and is here to stay.
