Norwich Win Sets Tone in NECRC
Norwich continued their solid run of form with a win in league play in the DII NECRC.
It was a big result for the Cadets, as they beat Rhode Island for the first time since 2012, winning 30-21.
Senior center Anthony Candrilli scored two tries in the game. Mark Hill and Keyan McCloud-Holman opened the scoring for Norwich and Candrilli's first try of the day put the Cadets up 15-3 at the break. In the second half, Rhode Island added their second penalty kick, and Candrilli added his second try to make it 20-6. URI battled closer, but tries from Tom St. Pierre and Austin Manhey made it 30-11.
Two late URI tries weren't enough.
Also on Saturday, University of Vermont looked very impressive in a 54-3 defeat of New Hampshire.
