NDC v Navy Game Includes 9-11 Remembrance
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame College will hosts the US Naval Academy on Saturday, and while this is an intriguing clash of two very good, and very different rugby programs, the game is also notable for the pre-kickoff ceremony.
Since the game will be held on September 10, a day before the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, both teams will participate in a special moment of remebrance.
Both rugby programs will be honoring the men and women of the armed forces along with our protective services of Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Service. South Euclid Fire Department's Honor Guard will be there to present the flag along with other members of the South Euclid Fire Department. In addition, Notre Dame College President Tom Kruczek will be at the captain's meeting for the coin toss at the beginning of the men's game. Alongside President Kruczek will be NDC player James Piper, who recently graduated from the Paris Island Marine Corps training center, and Jack Lovinger is the NDC men's rugby program's Team Impact player. Team Impact is a program designed to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.
Military servicemen Zack Forro and Austin Felser will be there, as well as the members of the US Naval Academy.
