OK, that's a bit unfair. The Pac West took the week off, and if Fresno State had logged another impressive result, then the Bulldogs might have been that team. 

But ... Long Beach State lost. Western Washington lost. Forida was half-idle.

What to do with Washington and Washington State and Oregon State. Do we throw out Oregon State's early-season win over Western Washington because the Beavers lost to Washington this past weekend? 

Do we hang Washington's potential ranking on a close loss to WWU, and a defeat of an OSU team that had just lost a playoff-clinching game by five?

UW Win a Harbinger of Bigger Things as NCRC Hits Semis?

Do we rank Washington State because they are 4-2 in-conference even though they are four wins against teams that aren't strong, and WSU wasn't really close in the losses to Boise Sate?

No, no, and no. OSU drops down because of the loss to UW, but we won't drop them out and won't bring the Huskies in on the basis of one result. WSU? They play Oregon in the NCRC playoffs. Win, or hang tough, and you're in. Get rolled and you stay out. Simple as that.

Having said all that, Boise State moves up.
