Men D2 2023 Rankings Week 9
Once again we have a big move for Wisconsin Whitewater in the rankings.
The big problem for them is Northern Iowa, which has won by massive margins against every opponent. So getting his hard by UNI knocked Whitewater down, only for them to make it back to their conference final. We're still not sure, to be honest. A few teams could be better then the Warhawks ... or at the same time the Warhawks could be the third-best team in the country!
This is special Northern Iowa team and despite IUP being really good and not placing a step wrong, Northern Iowa's dominance in what has been traditionally one of the strongest conferences in men's D2 rugby means we have to have them be #1 at least for one week if only to recognize what they've accomplished so far.
Memphis is a good dark horse and could well make a massive splash nationally. We think Maine, Marist and Mankato also form the four M-word Dark Horses of the Playoffs.
