We were all set to make major changes this week and instead ... well, the rankings were backed up.

Penn State one spot ahead of UMW? Penn State wins by a try.

Life #2 and Lindenwood #4? Life wins by four points.

Central Washington #11 and Cal Poly #13? CWU wins by eight. We do nudge Cal Poly up one spot but there doesn't seem to be a reason right now to move either up further.

The major changes are nearer to #25. Santa Clara beat UCSC (#25) and we do a straight replace there. At the same time, we felt maybe we'd been sleeping on UCSB. Part of that was tracking their strength of schedule, and two wins over the weekend we decided to move them in at #21. We have dropped out Adrian while we take a wait-and-see position with them after their latest game couldn't be played. We'll keep a close eye on them.

As a result of dropping Adrian out, GCU moves up a spot despite losing by a wide margin against Cal. However, Cal Poly also lost by a wide margin to Cal and that doesn't always mean a lot.

The big thing with UCSB for us was a shutout on UC Davis. While Davis has not been winning, they can score tries and have every game. Except against the Gauchos.
