Impressive Lineup of Teams Building at LA Invitational
The LA Invitational, the tournament around the big LA Sevens international event, is building nicely with some more brackets starting to build.
There is certainly an international flavor percolating through. Here are some noteworthy developments and a reminder to get your team into the competitions:
Youth & HS
The Youth and HS brackets will be held at the campus of Cal State Long Beach. The benefit of this is that the entire venue is completely devoted to the Youth & HS brackets. In addition, it will be much easier for teams to move around and get to the multiple fields they will be playing on.
There are U8, U10, U12, and HS brackets. (Correction - we had previously listed U16 but there is not a U16 bracket; we apologize for the error.)

Some of the Youth & HS teams that have registered or signaled their intention to register are:
Kahuku out of Hawaii (boys, girls, and youth), Easgle Impact Rugby Academy (boys and girls), Rhinos Rugby Academy (boys and girls) Papeete out of Tahiti (boys and youth), Ecole Secondaire St. Joseph out of Canada (girls), and Carondelet Cougars out of Northern California (girls).
The High School divisions will be held Friday and Saturday, February 24 and 25. The Youth Division will be in a Jamboree format and will be held on Sunday, February 26.

Men's Elite
The Men's Elite bracket is fast becoming a LA Sevens-light, with international teams that are essentially, or close to, their national teams. You have development national sides such as the USA Falcons, Japan Development, France Development, and Ireland Development. You also have some serious touring sides such as Seventise Rugby out of France and Rhinos.
Women's Elite
The Women's Elite bracket will feature several teams that have accomplished plenty on the women's 7s stage. Early signups includes Chicago Lions and Rhinos, but more have been coming in.
College
While there are college teams signing up—we've seen Harvard, Utah Valley University, and University of Utah on the list, there is room for more. This is an excellent chance to warm up for the upcoming winter/spring 7s season.
The college games will also be held at Long Beach State, which is a 20-minute jaunt from Dignity Health Sports Park and also offers an easy way to play and also see the LA Sevens.
The Collegiate divisions will be run Friday and Saturday, February 24 and 25.
