HSE, Dwenger Get Key Wins in Indianas Super League
The final two league games of the Rugby Indiana Super League look to have clarified who will play where in the upcoming playoffs.
HSE defeated Penn 38-14 and likely that game was enough to drop Penn, normally a team ranked in the top 15 (at least) nationally, out of the top four. Royoal Irish is already in the top four, and the other result of the weekend was Bishop Dwenger 14 Brownsburg 7. With Dwenger having beaten Penn twice, this close of a result would indicate that Brownsburg would be seeded with HSE and Bishop Dwenger.
Dwenger got two tries from Joe Fabini and two conversions from Daniel Cava in the win.
Meanwhile, HSE looked quite effective against Penn coming off a 5-0 loss to Brownsburg.
"We were still trying to implement a lot that hadn't started to click," explained HSE Head Coach Matt Kwiatowski, who added that this week's game was a different matter. "It was by far the best rugby we played this season and we finally started hitting on some of the opportunities we were just missing earlier in the year. There were a handful of things that we had been really trying to work on in practice that started tom come together."
Happy with the result, Kwiatowski said "we still have some work to do."
