Help Exiles Youth Team that Had Funds Stolen
The Maryland Exiles youth program is out $17,000 after hackers stole from their bank account.
After a long period of fundraising and banking player dues in order to support the upcoming youth season, the program found that all of the money had been withdrawn when hackers used CashApp to take all of the money out of the bank account.
Club Head Coach Dan Soso told the press that he only got a call from his bank (Sandy Spring Bank) when they were overdrawn. Certainly sudden and large withdrawals would qualify as unusual activity, but Soso received no notifications until all the money was gone.
The money goes to fund the club's activities and also helps fund players who otherwise would not be able to afford to play.
