GRR HS School Team Rankings Week 9
We debated for a while the idea of moving St. Ignatius up to #2 or #1.
However, a couple of things prevented that: 1) Herriman won pretty well and so there was no reason to move them back; 2) St. Ignatius and Gonzaga play this weekend. So, instead of making a preemptive judgment on that upcoming game, we'll wait to see what's what.
Herriman plays Highland, which is a tough game, too, so there's no guarantee that the St. Ignatius vs Gonzaga winner will be #1.
We do make some bigger moves. The All-California finals ramped up the strength of schedule for everyone involved. For St. Francis, the thing it they, Jesuit, and De La Salle are all pretty close. De La Salle, despite finishing 3rd in this All-California contest, and St. Francis finishing 2nd, and despite losing to St. Francis 26-24, has a bit of a stronger history and we're putting them up a bit higher right now.
St. Edward produced another good result and moves up again. Regis Jesuit won twice on tour and they move up. Penn wins twice, and we finally see something from them, so they move up.
Three teams move into the Top 50. Olympus was competitive with Herriman in their loss and that actually is enough to get to #40. Pelham won convincingly in an opening game with Trumbull, and they move in. Owyhee won well in their Idaho opener.
