Greenwich Wins at New York HS Sevens

Fourteen teams played in the latest weekend of action in Rugby New York's fall HS 7s action.

Seven teams played in the Boys Varsity bracket, while the rest were split between the Boys JV and the Girls brackets.

In the Girls bracket, Play Rugby went undefeated, with Morris 1 taking 2nd, Morris 2 3rd, and Spartan 4th.

In the Boys JV, Pelham HS tied Greenwich RFC and beat the Westchester Barbarians by only two points. Greenwich RFC edged the Barbarians by one point. This was basically a three-way tie, but Pelham took 1st by a single point in points difference.

In the Boys Varsity, Pelham beat Westchester Barbarians 48-0 and Playrugby 46-0

Greenwich was also undefeated in their pool, beating Fresh Meadows and Cobra, while their game against New Rochelle was a close-run contest.

In the final, Greenwich defeated Pelham to take the title 17-12.

New Rochelle held off the Barbarians for 3rd, while Playrugby took 5th from Fresh Meadows.

Rugby New York has three more tournament weekends to go, and it's still anyone's Fall 7s.
