The battle for top spot in Northern California's boys HS club Sacramento conference is basically down to two teams now as Granite Bay defeated Sierra Foothills 27-5 Friday night at Granite Bay's field.

Led by the scoring touch of speedy fullback Sam Cusano, with Tyler Rouse and Garrett Walker also touching down, the Grizzlies moved to 5-0, keeping pace with undefeated Jesuit for the conference title. The two teams will face off April 10 for what should be 1st place.

"It was a well-played game and a lot of excitement," enthused Granite Bay Coach Jason Divine. "We got good contributions from a lot of players, and winning this game put us in a really good position."

Players such as lock and HS All American Chase Bixby, Rouse, flanker Justin Oles, and HS All American Matt Rogers all contributed. Oles, perhaps not as well-known as the other three, as getting the job done as a loose forward.

"He's an explosive flanker and just has a top-notch work rate," said Divine. "He's a buzz-saw."

Sierra Foothills drops to 4-2.
